SHUSTOKE BARN WEDDING
Birmingham Wedding Photographer
Hollie & Tom
Dating back to the 18th century and located in Colesville, Warkshire is the charming and rustic red brick charm of a Shustoke Barn wedding. This venue chosen by Hollie and Tom really was something a little different.
When it gets to the later end of the wedding season and the nights draw in it is always the time to cross my fingers and hope for good weather for my clients. Whilst I always adapt and produce images whatever the conditions may throw at me it’s just a little nicer when the weather plays ball as it did on this occasion.
GETTING READY
Hollie and Tom both chose to get ready in separate rooms at the Lee Marston Hotel. It is always handy when couples do this as not only does it save money for the couples by not having to hire a second photographer but it means I get to capture the activity from both sides.
When it comes to story telling it is fantastic when the bride, groom or wedding party can look back at their images in years to come and see what their partner was doing whilst getting ready.
I love to produce clutter free compelling images for couples so having a room that is spacious to create this is also a bonus however when a room is full of your family helping out this can become more of a challenge.
A clever trick to producing these clean images in busy environments is to block out the messy areas with objects around the room. For example shooting through drinks glasses can produce a wonderful blur which blocks out the noise and creates and etheraeal, romantic and striking image.
CEREMONY, RECEPTION & 1st DANCE
Whenever i get the opportunity i always arrive at the ceremnoy venue at least half an hour before the ceremony starts. This is a great opportunity for me to capture wedding group photos of guests arriving, take images of the groom and mingle with the staff who make the day so special.
Capturing the table decorations before the guests are seated is always a must for me. Recording these small details where clients spend so much time and effort is really important in setting the scene and adding to the story of the wedding day.
Shustoke Barn really does providea an amazing backdrop for all kinds of images. With it’s candlelit environment it creates a wonderfully romantic atmosphere wich is a joy to photograph.
The turned around from the ceremony to the reception and then the first dance was swift and helped add to the variety on the day.
One of the things like to challenge myself on at any venue is creating a variety of different images for client within a small area. The Shustoke Barn Wedding images below illustrates this perfectly.
From the rustic candlelit interior to the courtyard and carpark with twinkly lights I was spolit for choice.
A Shustoke Barn Wedding is now on my list of favourite venues and I can’t wait to return to do it all again.
