HIRST PRIORY WEDDING

An 18th Century Location: Deborah & Matt’s Hirst Priory Wedding Story

Weddings are magical moments that mark the beginning of a couples journey together and it is always a privilege as a photographer to be able to capture those moments in natural and authentic way. When Deborah and Matt decided to tie the knot, they chose to celebrate their special day with an amazing Hirst Priory wedding. Set amongst gorgeous woodlands and with oodles of historic charm, their outdoor wedding was a perfect choice.

A Hirst Priory wedding is perfect if you are looking for an idyllic setting with a mix of beautiful gardens and architectural elegance. Set next to a golf course the options for your wedding photographs is varied with Deborah and Matt choosing to exchange vows under a beautifully adorned floral open teepee, surrounded by family and friends, a wonderful setting with the dappled sunlight seeping through creating a serene atmosphere.

The morning of the wedding Deborah and her bridesmaids prepared in one of Hirst Priory’s gorgeous bridal suites, while Matt and his groomsmen gathered in the groom’s quarters. Choosing a venue where the groom and bride can get both get ready at is a great way to maximise the amount and variety of photographs you get and a wonderful way for both couples to appreciate what each were doing when you get to review them after the wedding day. The bridal suite’s large windows overlooked the gardens, providing a calming and picturesque backdrop for bridal portrait images and some fun images of one of the bridesmaids wearing wings!!!

After the ceremony, the celebration moved to the indoor reception area. The tables were elegantly decorated with rustic centerpieces, featuring wildflowers and greenery that echoed the woodland theme.The guests enjoyed a wonderful wedding breakfast, with dishes that highlighted local and seasonal ingredients, while toasts and speeches brought the laughter and joy to the gathering.

While the natural beauty of Hirst Priory provided an amazing backdrop for their wedding photographs, I sought to create something truly unique for Deborah and Matt. We ventured into the vault, an intriguing underground space within the estate, to capture breathtaking images . The vault’s stone walls, dimly lit by fairy lights, created an otherworldly feel about it enable me to create a unique photograph just for them. The contrast between the rustic woodland setting and the mysterious vault added depth and intrigue to their wedding album.

As the sun set on their incredible day, it presented the ideal opportunity to use the golden light of the evening to create some fantastic sunset images. The sky came up trumps as it proved the perfect light casting a warm glow over the entire estate. We took advantage of this beautiful light to capture some final, unforgettable moments of Deborah and Matt together. As they walked hand in hand through the gardens, their silhouettes illuminated by the setting sun, creating a series of photos that perfectly encapsulated the end of their incredible day.

Deborah and Matt’s outdoor Hirst Priory wedding was a true testament to the beauty of nature and the power of love. Every detail, from the beautiful ceremony under the floral teepee to the mystical photo shoot in the vault, came together to create a day that was really memorable for all who were there.
